The CNA will be administering a one-time financial assistance program received by Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) to support Urban/Off-Reserve CNA Participating Band Members based on their residency /address on the day they complete their application. The Participating Bands include Ashcroft, Boston Bar, Coldwater, Cook’s Ferry, Nicomen, Nooaitch, Shackan and Siska.  

All applicants must complete the revised October application even if they previously completed an application as some of the information required has changed.

  1. The information collected from the application will be used to establish eligibility and provide adequate reporting back to ISC.  
  2. The CNA will be compiling the applications and verifying membership with the applicants registered band. 
  3. Once confirmation of membership is received by the CNA from the applicants registered band, cheques will be processed and mailed out on a bi-weekly basis (address for delivery based on the information provided in the application).  
  4. Funding is based on needs resulting from COVID-19. 
  5. Funding is only for urban/off-reserve CNA participating band Members based on their address/residency the day of their application. 
  6. For the purpose of this program the definition of urban/off-reserve is defined as any registered CNA participating band Member not living/residing on their registered Band’s reserve, which also includes a band Member residing on the reserve of another Band. (residency/address verification may be required). 
  7. Application Deadline December 13, 2020

The eligible categories ISC Urban/off-reserve funding is as follows (Note: Ashcroft Indian Band received urban/off-reserve funding from ISC independently, therefore the allowable funds through the CNA program were decreased as required by ISC):  

  1. $150.00 CAD per eligible Member living in Urban/Off-Reserve households who have lost their jobs due to Covid-19, ($80.00 CAD per eligible Ashcroft Member). 
  2. $150.00 CAD per eligible Member living in Urban/Off-Reserve households who are unable to work due to school and day-care restrictions due to Covid-19, ($80.00 CAD per eligible Ashcroft Member). 
  3. $150.00 CAD per eligible Member living in Urban/Off-Reserve households who are on a fixed income such as Social Assistance, Pension, Health Supports or other, ($80.00 CAD per eligible Ashcroft Member). 
  4. $140.00 CAD per eligible Member living in Urban/Off-Reserve households who have reduced income due to Covid-19, ($70.00 CAD per eligible Ashcroft Member). 
  5. $120.00 CAD per eligible Member living in Urban/Off-Reserve households who do not have access to food due to supply due to Covid-19, ($50.00 CAD per eligible Ashcroft Member). 
  6. $120.00 CAD per eligible Member living in Urban/Off-Reserve households who are experiencing financial hardship resulting from increased food prices due to Covid-19, ($50.00 CAD per eligible Ashcroft Member). 

The cheque runs will be as follows: 

  • All completed applications received by October 15 and subsequently verified eligible will be mailed out by October 28, 2020  
  • All completed applications received by October 28 and subsequently verified eligible will be mailed out by November 11, 2020 
  • All completed applications received by November 11 and subsequently verified eligible will be mailed out by November 25, 2020 
  • All completed applications received by November 25 and subsequently verified eligible will be mailed out by December 09, 2020 
  • All completed applications received by December 13 and subsequently verified eligible will be mailed out by December 22, 2020. 

*Any cheques re-issued will be subject to a $5.00 administration, office supply, and postage fee.
*For the purpose of the administration process, the applications will not be acknowledged as received until the application is completed in full.
All applications are being administered through the CNA only, PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT YOUR BAND about the application nor program delivery inquiries.
